Cooperative Care for Real Life Dogs (Without the Wrestling Match)

Pawdicure Prep School is a 6-week virtual group class designed to help your dog feel safe, confident, and willing during grooming and veterinary care. Using positive reinforcement and cooperative care techniques, we teach dogs how to actively participate in their care—so nail trims, brushing, and vet visits don’t have to feel like a battle.

This class is ideal for puppies, sensitive dogs, “spicy” dogs, and anyone tired of apologizing at the vet or avoiding the nail clippers altogether.

What is Cooperative Care?

Cooperative care focuses on giving your dog choice, predictability, and control during handling procedures. Instead of restraint and force, we build skills that allow your dog to say “yes” to care—leading to safer, less stressful experiences for everyone involved.

What We’ll Cover

Each week focuses on practical, real-life skills you can start using immediately:

  • Foundation behaviors for calm, stationary handling

  • Nail trim prep (yes, really)

  • Brushing, bathing, and general grooming skills

  • Ear cleaning and basic husbandry

  • Muzzle conditioning for safety and reduced stress

  • Vet visit prep and handling exercises

  • Building duration, relaxation, and consent-based behaviors

  • Format: Virtual group class (live, interactive)

  • Length: 6 weeks

  • Schedule: Tuesdays at 7:30 PM (via Google Meet)

  • Start: June 23rd

  • Support: Step-by-step guidance, homework, and real-time coaching
