  • At Sits ’n Wiggles, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all training. Every dog is an individual, and so is every family. Your program is customized to your dog’s unique needs and your personal goals — because great training only works when it fits real life.

We also come to you. Instead of sending your dog away to a stressful, unfamiliar facility, we work with them right in their home and everyday environments. This means your dog learns where it actually matters, without the fear, overwhelm, or confusion that often comes with “drop-off” training.

Our approach is modern, humane, and rooted in positive reinforcement, making learning safer, more effective, and far less scary — for both you and your dog.

  • You can reach us anytime via our contact page. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.

  • We offer flexible pricing based on project type and complexity. After an initial consultation, we’ll provide a transparent quote with no hidden costs.

  • Working with Valarie feels less like “going to dog training” and more like finally having someone in your corner who truly understands your dog — and you.

Valarie meets you where you are, without judgment, shame, or pressure. Whether you’re overwhelmed, frustrated, or just not sure what to do next, you’ll be heard and supported. She takes the time to explain the why behind your dog’s behavior and gives you clear, practical steps that actually fit your life.

Clients often say they leave sessions feeling calmer, more confident, and hopeful — because they finally have a plan that makes sense. Valarie’s approach is compassionate, science-based, and deeply personal, helping both ends of the leash learn and grow together.

  • Item descriptiNo — dogs are never too old, too stubborn, or too broken to learn.

What does change is how we teach them.

At Sits ’n Wiggles, we specialize in dogs who are scared, overwhelmed, reactive, or labeled “aggressive.” These behaviors aren’t personality flaws — they’re communication. Fear, stress, pain, and past experiences all shape how a dog responds to the world.

That’s why we don’t use cookie-cutter programs. Your dog’s plan is individualized to their emotional needs and your real-life goals, and we work with them right in their home environment so learning feels safer and more relevant.

Some dogs also benefit from working alongside a veterinarian or veterinary behaviorist — especially when anxiety or chronic stress is part of the picture. We help guide those conversations so your dog gets the full support they deserve.

Progress looks different for every dog, but meaningful change is always possible.on

  • Item desNo.

At Sits ’n Wiggles, we use modern, evidence-based, positive-reinforcement methods. Tools designed to cause pain, fear, or intimidation — such as prong collars, choke chains, or e-collars — are not part of our training programs.

These tools can suppress behavior temporarily, but they don’t address the underlying emotions driving it. For dogs who are already anxious, fearful, or reactive, aversive tools often make those feelings worse and increase the risk of bites or shutdown behavior.

Instead, we focus on teaching dogs what to do, not punishing them for what they did wrong. This creates safer, more reliable behavior and preserves the trust between you and your dog.cription

  • At Sits ’n Wiggles, all training is done in-home or virtually so your dog can learn in the environments where their behavior actually happens. This is especially important for dogs who struggle with fear, anxiety, reactivity, or over-arousal. Taking them to an unfamiliar, noisy facility often increases stress and masks the real challenges you’re dealing with at home.

We do this because dogs don’t live in training buildings — they live in your home, on your walks, and in your daily routines.

Working in your space allows us to:

    • See what your dog experiences day to day

    • Customize training to your real-life setup

    • Reduce fear and overwhelm

    • Teach skills that immediately transfer into daily routines

Virtual sessions offer the same individualized coaching with even more flexibility — perfect for busy schedules, remote clients, or dogs who do best without new people in their space.

By meeting dogs where they are — emotionally and physically — we create learning that lasts.
